About Melissa

Melissa's Bio

As a Contract Talent Specialist at Astute People, I connect skilled contractors with critical UK projects across the power generation and energy from waste (EfW) sectors. With a deep understanding of the unique demands of temporary and project-based roles, my mission is to provide businesses with the specialist expertise they need to deliver on their most complex and time-sensitive initiatives.

I specialise in sourcing and placing high-calibre professionals for a wide array of technical roles within:
Power Generation: This includes conventional power stations, Gas Turbines, Open Cycle Gas Turbines (OCGT), Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT), and other vital infrastructure that keeps the lights on.
Energy from Waste (EfW): I support projects that transform waste into valuable energy, recruiting for positions across the entire project lifecycle, from development and construction to operations and maintenance.

My expertise covers the full spectrum of contract positions, ensuring that projects have access to the right talent, at the right time. I am adept at identifying individuals with proven experience in areas such as:
Engineering: Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Process, Controls, and Project Engineers.

Operations & Maintenance: Plant Managers, Site Supervisors, Technicians, and skilled operators.
Project Management & Construction: Site Managers, Construction Managers, Project Engineers, and Commissioning Managers.

Specialist Technicians: Experts in specific equipment like gas turbines or EfW plant systems.
I pride myself on building strong, lasting relationships with both clients and contractors, understanding their specific needs and career aspirations. My proactive approach to contract recruitment ensures efficient placements that drive project success and keep the UK's energy infrastructure moving forward.
