Responsibilities and duties of the Valve Technician role:
As Valve Technician, reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

Carry out inspection, dismantling, cleaning, and reassembly of safety valves in compliance with manufacturer requirements and recognized industry standards.

Perform in-house and on-site testing and calibration of pressure relief valves (PRVs).

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of valve servicing, repairs, and certifications.

Support field service teams during turnarounds, shutdowns, and routine maintenance.

Perform valve testing and performance evaluations to verify reliability, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Comply with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental hazards.

Remain current with advancements in valve technology, industry trends, and best practices through training, workshops, and professional development activities.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

Apprenticeship trained, NVQ level 3 or equivalent
-
HNC in mechanical engineering or equivalent preferred.

Proven experience working with safety valves, PRVs, or similar mechanical systems.

Familiarity with industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO.

Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to interpret valve specifications and installation requirements.
