Electrical Commissioning Engineer - Anaerobic Digestion

Astute’s Renewables team are proudly partnered with a great company in the UK biogas market who are looking for an Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join the team, carrying out commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of control systems for biogas, Anaerobic Digestion plants. The strategically important Electrical Commissioning Engineer role comes with a salary up to £55,000, with 33 days annual leave, overtime and more. Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Senior Manager you will:  
  • Lead the commissioning of electrical equipment and control systems of anaerobic digestion plants, collaborating with other on site engineers and colleagues to ensure smooth and correct delivery.
  • Programming and testing PLCs using Siemens Step 7 (S7), developing and troubleshooting HMI interfaces and ensuring all control systems and properly programmed, tested and optimised for operation.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical and automated equipment.
  • Identify and report (where possible - resolve) technical or safety issues.
  • Create and compile commissioning plans, protocols and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide technical support to clients and site operators during commissioning and post-installation phases, delivering hands on training for plant operators.
Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Demonstrable experience in the commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems, instrumentation and automated equipment in industrial settings – preferably (not essential) in anaerobic digestion or other renewable projects.
  • Technical expertise in Siemens S7 PLC Programming and WinCC HMI Development tools.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical schematics, diagrams and instrumentation equipment.
  • Degree or other higher education qualified in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering or a similar field of study.
  • A full UK driving licence is essential due to remote nature of the sites
