Field Service Engineer – Utility Scale Solar and Storage

Astute are partnered with one of the most reputable sustainable energy businesses in the UK and a pioneer in the sector. The company develop, construct, own and operate their own renewable energy assets and we’re looking for a Field Service Engineer to attend customers' sites, maintaining solar ground mounted PV and Battery Storage systems on a day-to-day basis, carrying out maintenance on installations, utilising and testing solar PV and Battery Storage systems, performing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance as directed
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Field Services Manager, as a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Undertaking planned inspection and maintenance according to legal, technical, manufacturer and contractual requirements

Performing reactive maintenance, fault diagnosis and resolution in a timely manner

Carrying out site surveys requests as required

Compiling accurate and appropriate documentation for both internal and external stakeholders in a precise and timely manner

Keeping accurate and detailed records of electrical testing, High Voltage and safety documents that are suitable for audit

Ensuring that work output meets technical quality, reliability, cost, and productivity

Complying with the company Health & Safety Policy, including carrying out general housekeeping

Complying with all aspects of the company’s ISO standards: Quality management - ISO 9001 / Environmental - ISO 14001 proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme

Participating in an on-call rota
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
-
NVQ Level 3 electrical qualifications or equivalent
-
17th/18th (preferably) edition wiring regulations
-
Ideally at least a year’s experience in electrical/O&M work on utility scale solar sites
-
A dynamic and flexible attitude when it comes to call outs and occasional overnight stays
-
A full and clean UK driving licence
-
Battery storage experience is advantageous
Salary & Package
