1. JOB TITLE:
SITE & TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER
2. PURPOSE
AND
SCOPE:
For all matters associated with the engineering QA
requirements of a Contract and all activities connected with
the successful completion of a Contract.
3. REPORTING
TO:
Operations Director
4. RESPONSIBLE
FOR:
Develop all project specific QA documentation. Monitor,
expedite and inspect all sub-contractors and liaise with site
personnel for delivery schedules and inspections, and
documentation, ensuring compliance with the project
requirements.
5. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role requires working within the framework of a nominated project team and
providing the co-ordination of each project’s specific Q.A. activities, ensuring that
both Fairport’s internal, and the Client’s requirements are met.
This may typically include but not be limited to the development, generation and
completion, of the following documentation:
Quality Assurance Plans (QAP’s)
Construction Phase Plans (CPP’s)
Inspection Test Plans (ITP’s)
Factory/ Site Acceptance Tests (FAT’s & SAT’s)
Commissioning Test/ Protocols & Plans (CTP’s)
Commissioning Test Records (CTR’s)
Non-Compliance Records (NCR’s)
Delivery Schedules (DS’s)
Scope of Works (SOW’s)
Vendor Bid Analysis (VBA)
Vendor Inspection Report (VIR’s)
and monitoring, expediting and auditing of:-

Equipment and/ or steelwork manufacture
Equipment and/ or steelwork deliveries
Auditing of sub-contractor QA procedures and performance, both at Sub-
Contractor premises and/ or at Client sites
Liaising with contractors
The role is office based but visits to Sub-contractor premises and Client’s sites will
are to be expected; the frequency of which may vary from project to project from
only the occasional day to numerous throughout the project’s lifespan dependant
on its size and complexity.
Produce any other reports as requested by the Project Manager.
Ensure that the Company Policy and Procedures Manual is adhered to for all
defined activities including CDM, design risk assessment, drawing registration,
filing, change control and specification.
Co-operating with others both internally and externally to promote and achieve the
objectives of the Quality Management Plan.
Undertake any other duties that could reasonably be expected of a senior member
of staff.
Working within the engineering team appointed, consisting of other Project
Engineers, Project Designers, Structural Engineers (internal or external) and others.
Identifying with other members of staff the list of QA documents required for the
project and ensuring they are correctly prepared, completed, distributed and filed.
Supporting the appointed Project Manager and/ or Lead Project Engineer in all QA
aspect, including progress meetings and construction.
To ensure information both incoming and outgoing is filed, and the necessary
transmittals produced and filed.
To assist with elements of proposals work where previous experience or
knowledge is relevant.
Working and communicating as part of a cohesive team.
Mentoring junior and/ or less experienced team members.

The role is likely to require some travel and time away from home, attending
meetings with clients and/ or sub-contractors etc, and this is reflected in your
salary.
6. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
o Company Code of practices.
o Adherence to company handbook and polices.

o Comply with (a) Anti-Corruption and Bribery Policy and (b) Whistle Blower
Policy.
o Undertake any other duties as identified from time to time by the Directors
of the business and Line Manager.
7. SKILL SET AND COMPETENCY REQUIRED

CRITERIA
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Minimum of HNC in Mechanical and/ or Civil Engineering and a
time served apprenticeship.
EXPERIENCE
5 years’ experience in a similar role with a familiarity and
appreciation of the QA requirements for the mechanical, electrical,
civil engineering and construction sectors, Fairport Engineering
Limited tend to specialize in, but not restricted to, typically being
the process plant design for the cement/concrete,
mines/quarrying, waste to energy, ports, chemical and mineral
industries.
KNOWLEDGE
Broadly proficient in MS office suite.
Experienced in the generation of engineering documentation, and
vendor inspections.
CCNSG is a company requirement and attendance on the
necessary courses will be required when provided by the
company.

Good communication & organizational skills, ability to be selfgoverning,
thrive on teamwork with an ability to work to deadlines
and pressure.
