Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineer role
Within the role you will:
- Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion
- Act as a key client interface, building and maintaining strong working relationships
- Develop design briefs, project-specific criteria, and cost-effective engineering solutions
- Oversee tender processes, budgets, and commercial aspects of project delivery
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality of design and installation
- Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Strong experience in mechanical design within the Building Services sector
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead design delivery
- Knowledge of current British Standards and industry regulations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to produce and review technical calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination within construction projects
