Electrical Technician - Wind Turbines

This is for onshore wind turbines only.   About the role: Astute’s Renewables team is partnering closely with a Wind Turbine OEM who’re looking for an Electrical Technician / Wind Turbine Technician to join them. We’re looking for people who are either from the wind industry already, or those who want to make their first steps into the industry. We’re looking for people with an excellent, diligent attitude to their work and for people who’re wanting to stay with a business and grow with them. This Electrical Technician for onshore wind turbines comes with a starting salary just shy of £33,000 and with a comprehensive benefits package too. If you’re wanting to work for a genuine major player in the global energy space who will give you specific product training, please apply below.                     Responsibilities and duties: Reporting to the Area Manager you will:
  • Carry out electrical fault-finding and diagnosis on wind turbines
  • Installing ad retrofitting key components as per a PPM schedule
  • Tracing faults and issues, reporting on common ones found
  • Looking for continuous improvement opportunities on the turbines
  • Adhering to all, key H&S measures when climbing and working in the turbines
  • Climbing up and down wind turbines
  • Producing digital reports of the service and maintenance work carried out
  • If authorised, carrying out HV duties or be willing to learn and become authorised to do this
  • Assisting with mechanical issues when required
  • Working in a regional capacity from Inverness
    Professional qualifications: We are looking for someone with the following:
  • A minimum level 3 electrical qualification
  • Previous turbine experience preferred but not essential
  • Fault-finding and diagnostic experience
  • A H&S qualification is preferred by not essential
      Personal skills: The Electrical Wind Technician role would suit someone who is/has:
  • Proficient with IT skills
  • A reasonable level of fitness in order to climb up and down turbines
  • A valid UK driving licence
