The Senior Grid Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £80,000 depending on experience plus benefits with flexible hybrid working available.   • Understand the UK grid application process for generator connections, including documentation, timescales, and fees.
  • Assess transmission securities and liabilities relevant to generator projects to mitigate risks.
  • Review offers from National Grid, providing detailed briefs to clients on key attributes.
  • Support clients in navigating grid application processes for UK and overseas connections.
  • Share knowledge with the team, mentoring graduates/consultants to enhance expertise.
  • Stay updated on energy regulatory changes and their implications for clients.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with industry stakeholders for new opportunities.
  • Contribute to thought leadership initiatives by sharing insights and expertise.
  • Provide practical understanding of transmission and distribution grid applications.
  • Manage and analyse energy regulatory frameworks to support client needs.
    Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Degree qualified in Electrical or Mechanical engineering or possess equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience or willingness to learn client management and develop longstanding relationships.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks for renewable projects' grid connection, including transmission and distribution, with knowledge of use of system charging and Ofgem dealings
    Personal skills The Senior Grid Engineer role would suit someone who:  
  • Possess experience in, or be willing to learn, financial project management, ensuring projects meet strict timelines and budgets.
  • Exhibit commercial awareness of the energy industry, including market trends and key players
