Astute’s Power Team is partnering with a leading global provider of Energy-from-Waste (EfW) solutions, this organisation delivers turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects across the full lifecycle, to recruit a Commissioning Engineer for its Glasgow Anaerobic Digestion Project on either a long-term contract or permanent basis.
Responsibilities and duties of the Commissioning Engineer role
You will:

Perform hands on commissioning tasks in the field across mechanical, electrical, and process systems within assigned scope.

Manage and coordinate commissioning activities for allocated systems in line with the commissioning programme and project milestones.

Ensure systems are commissioned in accordance with design documentation, employer’s requirements, project specifications, and contractual obligations.

Oversee and coordinate subcontractors during commissioning activities, ensuring works are carried out safely, to specification, and to schedule.

Act as a technical interface between subcontractors, engineering disciplines, and the commissioning management team.

Identify deviations, technical issues, and risks, proposing and implementing corrective actions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Prepare, manage, and complete commissioning documentation, including test protocols, check sheets, punch lists, and handover dossiers.

Ensure commissioning QA/QC documentation is completed accurately and on time prior to system handover, PAC, or takeover

Willingness to travel and work on site throughout the Commissioning stage

Must have experience on large-scale industrial plants as a Commissioning Engineer ideally on RG (Renewable Gas) plants e.g. AD (Anaerobic digestion, gas upgrading, utilities or balance of plant).

AD (Anaerobic digestion) plant commissioning and operating knowledge

Hold a SMSTS/IOSH/NEBOSH qualification

Valid SCC training certificate or equivalent
