Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading power generation company to recruit an Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation Technician for their Biomass site in Chester on a contract basis for an immediate start.
Key skills

Act as the Electrical Duty Holder for the site, ensuring compliance with statutory and company requirements.

Promote and support plant safety initiatives, including participation in Near Miss and Incident Investigations, and implement resulting recommendations.

Ensure all Electrical, Control & Instrumentation (EC&I) assets comply with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.

Develop, implement, and test software modules and control systems or equivalent platforms.

Lead fault-finding and root cause investigations for EC&I systems to identify and resolve technical issues effectively.

Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including procedures, method statements, and technical guidance.

Implement, maintain, and test SCADA systems, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.

Own and manage the Safety Instrumented System (SIS), including maintenance, proof testing, and performance verification.

Support outage and maintenance activities, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant completion of all EC&I work, and maintain accurate reporting within the CMMS.

Must have experience in a relevant environment/sector (e.g. power station, chemical process)

Must have worked with rotating machinery and Instrumentation.
