Astute’s Power team is partnering with leading principal contractor in the Energy from Waste sector to recruit a Commissioning Lead Engineer on a long-term contract basis for its site in Kent from October 2025.
The Commissioning Lead Engineer role comes with a day rate of between £600 per day (Outside IR35).

Champion safety standards across teams and ensure full compliance with project HSEQ requirements

Deliver complete DCS scope including PCS7, S7-1500 PLCs, and TIA Portal on large-scale EfW plants

Independently operate critical systems and supervise shift personnel during commissioning phases

Execute hands-on training for client personnel and optimise processes with commissioning teams

Interface with stakeholders, maintain shift logs, and ensure works meet contract specifications

Must have proven PCS7 experience, plus S7-1500 PLCS and TIA Portal proficiency

Must have EFW experience with at least 2-5 years experience as a Control Room Operator

Must hold or be prepared to obtain a SSSTS
