Introduction…
Our client is a global leader in environmental solutions who provides a comprehensive range of waste management services throughout the UK. They are currently looking to recruit a Site Supervisor to join their Transfer Station and MRF team in Luton. Working as the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations across the waste processing facility, including health, safety and compliance, environmental management, operational delivery and supporting the site teams.
Roles & Responsibilities
Working as the Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Managing the day to day operations of the Waste Collection contract, monitoring waste in and waste out, ensure all operations are in line with company targets, client expectations and KPI’s.
- Ensure the team are managed accordingly, providing support and feedback where needed. Including the induction of new hires and adhering to HR requirements.
- Managing all site staff including temporary workers and contractors, ensuring delegation of work.
- Drive and implement the company SHEQ policy across the sites and ensure best practice is performed at all times.
- Conduct risk assessments, site inspections and accident/incident and near-miss investigations where appropriate.
- Responsible for all transport and logistic requirements across sites, ensuring all vehicles are fully equipped and meet the required standard.
- Supervise the plant operatives, supporting with the operation and maintenance of plant as required. Including loading shovel, tele-hander and tele-truck.
- To be an ambassador of the company ensuring all materials are maximised and reach the correct purpose.

Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Experience of working in the waste management industry is advantageous, knowledge of the heavy process sector is essential.
- Previous experience working in a senior role, managing operations of a site/sites
- Strong Health and safety knowledge
- Analytically minded and sound Problem-solving skills
- A full, valid driving licence
