Introduction
Are you a highly professional design engineer that has mentoring or leadership experience? Are you looking to work in a high tech, open plan, office environment on a large-scale anaerobic digestion facility? Then look no further! Our client is seeking an Engineering Project Design Leader who will lead a small team of CAD Technicians and graduates to ensure design packages are delivered to meet the agreed project schedules.
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Projects Leader you will be responsible for:

Promote a proactive culture of safety and make sure that engineering designs meet the highest standards for safety.

Make sure that approved engineering projects follow the established design standards.

Assist the Engineering Projects Leader in regularly assessing the resources needed to successfully carry out each approved project.

Establish resource plans and set clear objectives for the design team, ensuring that they achieve all design requirements and provide detailed equipment lists and specifications for projects and development initiatives.

Ensure that design packages are completed and shared with Project Engineers according to the agreed project schedule.

Develop and regularly update training plans for your team members to ensure they stay current with legal requirements and possess the necessary skills.

Guarantee that the design team meets all agreed targets for validating engineering projects.

Always keep the engineering files and library up to date.

Occasional travel to other sites when needed.

Other duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
-
Degree in Engineering Design/Mechanical Engineering/Chemical Engineering or similar
-
Previous in-house design experience working for an engineering projects or services company
-
A professional design engineer with a chartership
-
Management or leadership experience working previously with graduates
-
Strong attention to detail and with a high level of integrity
-
Ability to use design and project management software applications/packages
-
A positive drive and attitude towards continuous improvement
-
A full driving licence
