Principal BESS Enginee Remote working from home £70k / £80k basic + Benefits     Introduction Astute is working with one of the worlds market leading O&M service providers. Specialising in the development, engineering, financing, construction, operations & maintenance of large scale solar photovoltaic projects. With close to 1.8GWp installed Globally and a 5-year track record for outstanding services, they are looking for a  Principal BESS Engineer to be responsible for ensuring Battery Storage projects are engineered to the highest industry standards.                     Roles & Responsibilities As Principal BESS Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Take the lead on highly complex and innovative Battery Storage Systems including co-located projects.
• Day to day coordination and leadership for the engineering team and take responsibility for details electrical engineering including: MV/HV grid interconnections, control requirements, component sizing and integration, metering etc.
• Manage and produce electrical designs including, wiring schematics, SLDS, architecture, equipment size etc.
• Manage preparation of project tender information and support and mentor Engineering team to increase familiarity with Battery Storage technologies.
• Ensure all systems are designed to meet safety standards.

    Skills & Qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:

• Degree in electrical engineering and demonstratable utility scale Battery Storage experience.
• Achieved Chartered Engineer status, or working towards it.
• 5+ years of experience in the renewables industry or similar.
• Experience with solar PV in the UK is a plus.
• Proficiency with CAD, ePlan or equivalent software and experience and understanding of BESS control systems.
• Fluent in English.
• Self-starter with commitment to self-development and passion for renewable energy.
• Flexible – the role will require some international travel staying overnight or longer.

    Salary & Package What’s on offer for this exciting role:

• Salary from £70k – 80k DOE And Bonus 12.5% KPI driven
• Pension ER’s contributions up to 6% - following a successful 3-month probation period
