The position of Lead Mechanical Engineer is part of the Projects group and is a full time, permanent position. Your time will primarily be based at our office at Knutsford with occasional visits to client sites and our offices in Lancaster.
The Position of Lead Mechanical Engineer
Reporting to the Engineering Manager (Projects) the Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:
- Management of the Mechanical Engineering Department, ensuring the mechanical deliverables produced by the Projects Group are to the correct quality, standard and in compliance with procedures.
- Mentoring and development of Mechanical Engineers within the department.
- Preparation of Specifications and Scopes of Work, Preparation of programmes, Preparation and Presentation of proposals.
- Attendance at project meetings.

To be successful in the role of Lead Mechanical Engineer you will:
- Be educated to a degree level and preferably have achieved Chartered status with the IMechE.
- Have worked in a design and engineering environment and have experience of pipe and valve specification, material selection and welding and fabrication.
- Have experience in the petrochemicals, chemicals or renewable energy industries and knowledge of applicable industry regulations and standards including CDM, PER, PSSR, CE and UKCA marking is advantageous.
