Introduction
We are currently recruiting for a Project Engineer to work with a company which supports engineering and construction projects for clients across the UK, delivering diverse and interesting projects in sectors such as Power and Energy, Water, etc.
Roles & Responsibilities
As the Project Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day management of staff and subcontractors working on assigned projects
- Taking responsibility for the health and safety of self and all under your control
- Creating and updating the Project Initiation Document (PID), setting success criteria in line with business objectives
- Producing and maintaining project documentation according to the Project Artefact Matrix
- Managing project performance, measuring delivery milestones, quality outputs, programme variance, and contribution to the business core values
- Liaising with the client and other stakeholders as appropriate, promoting Bridges’ capability and maximizing opportunities
- Escalating issues to the Project Manager as necessary
- Working within a monthly project reporting structure, responsible for receiving and providing accurate project information for review, discussion, and action
- Delegating to supervisors as appropriate
- Finishing and closing out projects to programme
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A willingness to undertake the Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) from APM
- Experience gained from working in the water industry
- Electrical or Mechanical background and qualification
- Excellent client engagement and communication skills
- Knowledge of HSEQ and company procedures
- Experience in using planning software such as Microsoft Project
- The ability to analyze project performance and produce project reports
