Astute’s Power team are looking to recruit a Microsoft Project Planner in Cheshire on a contract basis.
Key skills required for the Microsoft Project Planner role

Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project

Build and manage work breakdown structures (WBS) aligned with outage scope

Integrate contractor schedules into the master outage plan

Liaise daily with engineering, maintenance, operations, and site management teams

Track progress against baseline schedules and identify critical path impacts

Produce daily and weekly progress reports for stakeholders
-
Conduct schedule risk analysis and propose mitigation strategies

Coordinate shutdown activities to ensure sequencing and resource optimisation
-
Monitor labour, plant, and material resource allocations
-
Support planning meetings, toolbox talks, and coordination briefings

Ensure all planning activities align with site safety and compliance requirements

Assist with change management and scope variations

Capture lessons learned and contributed to post-outage reviews

Must have proven experience as a Planner on outage or shutdown projects

Background in heavy industrial sectors

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project

CSCS Card (or equivalent recognised Safety Passport)

Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards in industrial environments
