Health, Safety & Wellbeing Manager

Astute’s Nuclear Team is partnering with a major infrastructure contractor to recruit a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager for a high-profile project based in Snowdonia   The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager role comes with a salary of up to £80,000 dependant on experience and will be based on-site on the project. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading organisation delivering complex infrastructure works in a challenging and highly regulated environment. The successful candidate will take a lead role in driving health, safety and wellbeing standards across site, ensuring best practice is embedded throughout the project lifecycle. If you’re a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager and are looking to work on technically challenging projects with a reputable organisation, then submit your CV to apply today.   Responsibilities and duties of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager role Reporting to the Project Director, you will:  
  • Lead and promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the project
  • Provide expert advice and support to project leadership, managers and supervisors on H&S responsibilities and compliance
  • Ensure all site activities are delivered in line with company procedures, legislation and industry best practice
  • Carry out regular site inspections, audits and surveillance to identify risks and drive continuous improvement
  • Lead and manage accident and incident investigations, ensuring root causes are identified and preventative actions implemented
  • Monitor and analyse H&S performance data, identifying trends and implementing improvement initiatives
  • Develop and deliver health and safety campaigns, lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement plans
  • Review and approve H&S documentation including plans, procedures and method statements for internal teams and contractors
  • Manage the project induction process, ensuring all personnel receive appropriate onboarding and safety briefings
  • Produce reports and presentations on H&S performance and ensure compliance with project KPIs and stakeholder requirements
  Professional qualifications   We are looking for someone with the following:  
  • Relevant health and safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a senior H&S role within construction, infrastructure or engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing audits, inspections and incident investigations
  • Familiarity with health and safety management systems and site-based processes
