Job Summary - Mission
To identify, secure and deliver radioactive waste projects for nuclear clients using professional scientific, engineering, commercial and project management principles. In accordance with Inutec Strategy.
To lead the bids and commercial team and associated administrative functions in their development to fulfil existing requirements and develop the next generation of bid writers, commercial managers across Tradebe Inutec.
Key Responsibilities
Together with Head of Projects you will:

Own the monthly forecasting and delivery by the project management team working along the Financial Business Partner and other key business staff including the Operations Manager and SHEQ manager

Take a key role in developing the forward service delivery work plan on Monthly SOP (sales and operating plan) meetings.

To lead by example in supporting the technical approach, bidding, commercial and managing the delivery of technically complex radioactive waste management contracts

To provide technical guidance and support within the team and through working alongside other key business staff including the SHEQ team, Technical Director and Business Support Managers.

Working with the Business Development Team and other senior project managers to develop a full understanding of customer requirements for the benefit of timely and succinct bid delivery.

Work with the other (Ops, HP, ACS, M&E) Inutec department managers to secure & develop resources required to deliver tasks

Utilise appropriate tools and software to forecast, control and report on project progress

Accountable for Project planning and committing to customer milestones and internal deadlines.

Accountable for assessing the need and deploying where necessary the relevant and required resources to meet bid turnaround times, with the required detail and depth of response from a perspective of technical competency.

Ensure the relevant project and bid related risks are identified and managed / mitigated as appropriate.

Share best practice for bid writing and project management knowledge with staff to improve bid writing and project management capability to maximise profitability

Support operational management through project financial planning & reporting, resourcing, and attention to financial KPIs.

Working with Tradebe sales, and operational teams to develop plans, bids and solutions to meet customer needs

Commercial oversight and responsibility within the team to ensure Tradebe is protected commercially through the Terms and Conditions under which it does business

Accountable for the management of all aspects of our contracts with customers with a key focus on the contract management of major frameworks such as with NWS and EDF

Accountable for ensuring the submission of bids to time and quality with all required approvals in place.

Essential / Desirable Qualifications and Knowledge:
-
Qualified to degree level in a relevant Science or Engineering Discipline is essential, or relevant and proven track record with 15 years + experience

Working towards or holding one or more professional accreditations in Science, Engineering, Project Management or Radiation Protection is desirable (e.g. CChem, CEng, APMP, RWA.)

Good understanding of the commercial processes and practices involved in securing and managing new work.
