Responsibilities and duties of the Associate Director of Town Planning role
Reporting to the Directors, you will:
- Drive business development and grow the Scottish branch, securing new project opportunities
- Demonstrate leadership with a commercial focus, helping to steer the business through its next phase of growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and lead stakeholder engagement activities
- Lead planning services for strategic infrastructure and renewable energy projects, including programme and budget management
- Manage client enquiries, prepare bids, and maintain strong client relationships
- Mentor and support junior and senior planners, contributing to the development of a high-performing team
- Stay informed on planning and energy policy developments in Scotland and the wider UK
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Chartered Member of the RTPI
- Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within the onshore wind sector
- Excellent knowledge of the Scottish planning system
- Proven success in managing planning applications in onshore or offshore wind
- Strong commercial awareness and business development skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence
