Introduction

My client is a leading, well-established developer of large solar parks across Europe and elsewhere. They are at the very heart of Europe's green energy transition. They develop solar schemes starting from project initiation to financing, construction, and asset management, managing the complete solar park life-cycle. With our Headquarters in Munich, Germany, and operations in the Netherlands, France, the UK, Germany and Mexico, they are a truly international, experienced and aspirational team. It is their objective to remain in the Top Tier for large scale solar parks in this very important European market.

For the UK market, they have a young and growing team, located in Munich and across the UK, which they seek to strengthen with a Development Consent Order Lawyer, located fairly flexibly in England. The position can be either full-time or part-time.

Roles & Responsibilities

As the Development Consent Order Lawyer, you will:

Work in the UK project team with a variety of tasks, such as:
  • Providing legal advice in respect of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs);
  • Drafting Development Consent Orders (DCOs) for NSIPs;
  • Help promoting NSIPs;
  • Providing legal advice in respect of land rights for solar projects; Liaise with external solicitors and negotiate Option agreements for long term land leases;
  • Ensuring due diligence of all searches and legal work undertaken;
  • Advising on corporate matters, including joint venture/shareholder agreements, commercial contracts and NDAs;
  • Providing assistance to other team members on legal matters related to project development.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • English as native language
  • Qualified Solicitor with at least 2 years PQE in DCOs or property work
  • Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage files
  • Knowledge of the Planning Act 2008 regime
  • Ideally experience in the Renewable Energies industry
  • Confident and professional
  • Enthusiasm for renewable energy
