About the role:
Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a leading consultant, designer, installer and maintenance/ service provider of renewable energy systems and technologies across the UK. Together we are looking to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer to work from the Horley office, with options for hybrid working and occasional site visits.
The Electrical Design Engineer opportunity comes with a salary between £30,000 - £35,000, discretionary bonus, competitive company benefits, hybrid working and excellent development opportunities.

Responsibilities and duties:
Reporting to the Design Manager you will:

Collaborate effectively across a team of Technical Designers, Project Managers, Sales Consultants to deliver cost-effective and precise technical designs.

Responsible for technical design of products with a focus on electric and BMS.

Create detailed schematics and wiring diagrams to guide the implementation of designs.

Perform calculations and make informed cable selections in adherence to project requirements.

Upon design approval, transition the plans to the engineering team for system installation, providing ongoing technical support throughout project’s lifecycle.

Offer technical guidance to sales and maintenance teams as needed.

Continued development of standardised and reusable design patterns.

Conducting field verification and site surveys.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

Electrical or Electronic Engineering qualification to degree level or equivalent.

Knowledge of CAD tools – Autocad and Revit.

Strong understanding of electrical components.

Experienced in preparation of SLD, protection and metering diagrams, cable scheduling and installation detail drawings.
Personal skills:
The Electrical Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:

Demonstrate strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects at a time.

Ideally experience within the renewable energy sector, or with heat pump systems or PV systems or relevant experience.

Full driving license and flexibility to attend site visits as required.
