About the role:
Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading turnkey engineering contractor, designing, installing, operating and maintaining environmentally friendly energy generating systems and networks, to recruit a Mechanical Designer for its London based office.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £45,000 DOE, 33 days holiday + Bank Holiday’s and flexible working.

Responsibilities and duties:

Design distributed energy schemes, energy centres, District Heating networks up to the point of heat delivery

Assist in rectifying design issues to minimise impact on plant performance

Ability to design systems in the form of schematics, calculations, equipment selection, detailed drawings and BMS control operating strategies

Liaise with internal and external designers, customers and in-house project teams
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:

Degree qualified (Desirable)
-
HNC/HND Qualified (essential)
Personal skills:
The Senior Design Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who:
-
3-5 years’ experience within a design environment
-
Good understanding of design principles including heating/ cooling distribution, boiler/ CHP systems, with steam system design principles being advantageous but not essential

An understanding of National Design Specifications (NES/NBS) and competent in AutoCAD (2D)
