Civil Engineer

Civil Engineer Selby £40,000 - £60,000 per annum

We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our client site based in Selby. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Lead Civil Engineer providing support to them to ensure that project work is carried out safely and within budget whilst maintaining quality and standards.

Roles & Responsibilities

As a Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for:
  • The delivery of high-level engineering standards and compliances.
  • Working closely with external contractors and consultants to ensure compliance is being met throughout the business.
  • Contract management which will include negotiations and tendering for contracts.
  • Appraisals and assessments for potential projects.
  • Working closely with external stakeholders.
  • Leading and managing a team when required.
  • Managing and co-ordinating civil and structural projects.
  • Collating, analysing, reporting and developing concepts from the technical information provided.
  • Providing advice and guidance for example project delivery and risk profiles.

 

 

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:
  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in structural design and analysis.
  • Knowledge of the execution requirements of complex projects.
  • Experience and knowledge of new construction projects, existing structure appraisals back analysis of loads and framing arrangements.
  • Experience of writing technical and development specifications, contracts, papers plus other project development documents.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in the use of 2D & 3D modelling & drawing tools (AutoCAD, NavisWorks etc)
  • Experienced in the use of 2D & 3D analysis tools (e.g. REVIT, STAAD, TEDDS etc)
  • Knowledge of managing contractors with the skills and ability to lead a team.
  • Experience of managing multiple budgets for OPEX and CAPEX.
  • Competent with IT systems such as Microsoft Office 365 programmes, document control systems, SharePoint etc.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of design & interfaces in industrial process and/or chemical plants
  • IOSH or equivalent.
  • Permit systems knowledge.
