Introduction
Astute is working with one of the worlds market leading O&M service providers. Specialising in the
development, engineering, financing, construction, operations & maintenance of large scale solar
photovoltaic projects. With close to 1.8GWp installed Globally and a 5-year track record for
outstanding services, they are looking for a BESS Control Engineer to be responsible for BESS and Solar PV Controller through design to delivery and commissioning.
Roles & Responsibilities
As BESS Control Engineer you will be responsible for:

Take the lead on preparing BESS (EMS, BCS, SCADA, Visualisation) and PV plant controllers.

Work and manage with third party plant controller providers to make sure that the delivered product meets the needs of the specific site requirements and allows for a flawless commissioning phase of all components.

Review design elements, flow charts and functional specifications, prepare scope of works and make sure requirements are met.

Make sure that all critical and relevant parameters especially from the battery system are monitored properly and depicted in the operator´s interface.

Set up communication system architecture, choose of switches and setting up IP-structure (e.g. VLANs).

A good understanding for state-of-the-art IT/OT security procedures and equipment.
Skills & Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
• Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification with demonstratable Battery Storage experience.
• Experience with Renewable Energy technologies in the UK is preferable.
• Familiarity with PLC systems, programming language and communication protocols.
• Experience and understanding of BESS control systems is desirable.
