 
          Job Title: Staff Pharmacist Urgently Hiring - Immediate Opening!
Pay: $114,400 - $135,200 depending on licensure/experience
Hours:Monday – Friday, weekends as needed
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a Staff Pharmacist for our specialty pharmacy providing home infusion and alternate care services in Montgomery, Alabama. The Staff Pharmacist will dispense medications and medical equipment, assess therapy appropriateness, document patient progress, and provide medication education in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager or Director of Pharmacy.
As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
Assess patient suitability for home care and appropriateness of prescribed therapy
Compile patient information and develop individualized pharmacy care plans with therapy goals
Review laboratory results and perform pharmacokinetic dosing calculations
Make evidence-based dosing recommendations and update medication profiles
Counsel patients and caregivers on prescribed therapy, medication use, and infusion methods
Document patient progress, compliance, and therapy outcomes with appropriate frequency
Participate in patient care conferences and nutrition support rounds
Ensure accurate prescription order entry, medication concentration, compatibility, and proper storage
Dispense medications and supplies cost-effectively with appropriate authorization
Program and troubleshoot medication administration pumps
Submit electronic claims for medications
Maintain calendars for laboratory tests, compounding, delivery, and documentation updates
Process refills and supplies at least 24 hours in advance of patient need
Plan work to optimize cost-effective delivery methods
Ensure all pharmacy practice adheres to state/federal regulations, USP <797> standards, and company policies
Oversee compounding, clean room, and anteroom activities
Complete QA/QC records and compounding documentation
Document all communication with physicians, nurses, dietitians, patients, and caregivers
Complete required orientation, annual competencies, and in-service training
Oversee pharmacy support personnel and ensure timely task completion
Delegate non-clinical tasks appropriately
Train and supervise pharmacy support staff, interns, and students
Assume Pharmacist in Charge or branch manager duties during absences as needed
Respond to drug information requests
Participate in on-call process and document activities
Perform additional duties as directed by supervisor
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required; Doctor of Pharmacy or Master's of Science in Pharmacy preferred
Current state pharmacy license required
Minimum 2 years recent acute-care experience OR 1 year recent home infusion therapy experience
Strong knowledge and experience with intravenous admixture services and IV therapy
