One of Alliance Solutions Group major clients in the Scottsdale area is currently seeking a well-qualified, experienced Prior Authorization Specialist to work on site with the possibility to go remote after 90 days of on site training. Job Title/ Type of Pharmacy setting: Prior Authorization Specialist, Pharmacy Liason

Job Duties -

• Verifies patient insurance coverage utilizing phone or online resources

• Submit prior authorizations to insurance plans in a timely manner via payer-specific portals and vendors

• Troubleshoots prior authorization submissions and prescription processing with health care providers utilizing phone or online resources

• Ensures all pertinent medical documentation is accurate and present prior to authorization submission

• Follows up on pending authorizations on a regular basis to obtain the current status or to be informed of any action needed in order to obtain the authorization approval

• Document activities appropriately in process notes using our operating system

• Ability to successfully navigate between multiple systems throughout the course of the workday, this includes but is not limited to operational software and vendor portals

• Demonstrate flexibility to perform duties wherever volume deems it necessary

Schedule -  schedule is in line with EST time zone, so it will change with daylight savings! Right now, 9am-5:30pm MST, and then will shift to 8am-4:30pm MST. First 90 days will be in the office, then you will have the opportunity to be fully remote if all is going well. (you do not have to go fully remote, can stay in the office or work out a hybrid schedule if you want!)

Pay -  $18-20/hr with additional room for growth 

Experience needed - 

• Insurance experience with pharmacy prior auths is preferred, but not required.
• CoverMyMeds experience is preferred.
• Should have a firm understanding of insurance, prior auths, appeals, deductibles, etc.
