Mechanical Assembler Job Description
The ideal candidate will have 2+ years’ experience in mechanical machine assembly work. A strong mechanical aptitude, great organizational skills, and proficiency reading blueprints are essential for this position. This position reports directly to the Assembly Lead.
Mechanical Assembler Job Responsibilities
Assemble simple to complex mechanical assemblies per specification by interpreting blueprints and drawings while following manufacturing processes and procedures
Identify the necessary tooling and equipment to perform assigned operation
Inspect parts, as necessary using the proper measuring tools, micrometers, calipers, etc.
Lead and instruct others in proper assembly of various mechanical assemblies
Maintain proper project documentation
Responsible for all duties required for tear down and crating of equipment for shipment
Maintain a photo/video library of all builds in an organized manner
Track day to day added value operations needed internally
Operate a tow motor on a as need to basis, operate and overhead crane as need be
Assist in maintaining the highest quality of product
Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed
Desired Skills & Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of two years of machinery assembly experience
Advanced ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and specifications
Intermediate math skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks with a sense of urgency
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Well organized with an aptitude for details
Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment
Experience with using different types of pneumatic, electrical, and hand tools
Able to stand or walk for the majority of the day and be able to lift 40lbs on a needed basis and up to 75 pounds with assistance
Able to regularly apply physical mobility (stretching, lifting, bending, twisting, etc.) to perform all assembly related assignments
Machining and electrical experience and knowledge is a plus
