Role OverviewJoin a leading manufacturer specializing in access control, factory automation, and industrial sensors as an Electronics Technician in Cleveland, OH. In this role, you will play a vital role in testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting circuit boards to ensure they meet high-quality design specifications. You will work directly with the Plant Manager to support manufacturing operations, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
Note: The core focus of this position is hands-on product testing and component-level diagnostic troubleshooting (rather than board assembly or soldering).
What You'll DoFollow written electronic test procedures to perform functional product testing and verify circuit board functionality to design specifications.
Utilize diagnostic test equipment—specifically Multimeters and Oscilloscopes—to test, inspect, and evaluate electronic assemblies.
Read and interpret circuit schematics to troubleshoot failing circuit boards down to the component level.
Perform visual quality inspections of Surface Mount (SMT) and Plated Through-Hole (PTH) circuit boards using lenses and microscopes.
Assist the Plant Manager with technical support and production needs on the manufacturing floor.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
Product Testing Experience: Proven background in electronic product testing and knowledge of functional testing procedures in a manufacturing environment.
Test Equipment Proficiency: Practical, hands-on experience using diagnostic tools, including Multimeters and Oscilloscopes.
Schematic Reading & Diagnostics: Strong ability to read and understand electronic circuit schematics to effectively troubleshoot and isolate root causes of circuit failures.
Education: An Associate Degree in Electronics Technology or a related field is strongly preferred.
Industry Standards: Familiarity with the IPC-A610 Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies standard or ability to reference technical materials.
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal, relationship management, and communication skills (verbal and written).
(Note: While basic familiarity with SMT/PTH components is necessary, high-level soldering is not a primary requirement for this position.)
