Job Title: Night Shift Machinist
Reports To: Night Shift Supervisor
Summary: Operates CNC Horizontal and Vertical Mills & Machining Centers on medium-to-heavy steel plate in a fabrication/job shop environment. Responsible for setup through operation to produce precision parts.
Responsibilities:
Read/interprets routers, drawings, and blueprints
Program review, debugging, and troubleshooting
Load feed mechanisms using overhead cranes
Perform machining operations: milling, drilling, tapping, sanding, etc.
Verify settings, inspect parts, and perform first-run checks
Set controls, calculate machining factors, and adjust as needed
Routine maintenance and troubleshooting
Operate multiple machines when needed
Qualifications:
HS diploma or tech school graduate
3–5 years CNC machining experience (medium/heavy plate)
Strong blueprint reading & G/M code editing
Willingness to cross-train
Preferred: MSSC certification, fabrication job shop experience
Physical: Lift 50 lbs, frequent standing/walking, repetitive motions
Equipment Used: Forklift, overhead crane, CNC milling equipment, gauges
