CNC Milling Machinist - 3rd shift
Euclid, OH military/defense manufacturer which is a leading producer of the high-performance metals including tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, niobium and other specialty metals is currently hiring for 3rd shift CNC Milling Machinists.
The CNC Milling Machinist will operate advanced CNC machines that can move along axes (3-axis to 5-axis) simultaneously to produce complex, high-precision parts. This includes cutting, turning, drilling, milling, reaming, boring of
metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.
3rd shift position, with training on 1st shift for approximately 30-60 days; 3rd shift hours are 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM.
Starting rate: $30 to $32 hour
Job responsibilities include:
Reads and interprets blueprints, routing sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings and machining methods and sequences.
Estimates requirements for time, tooling, and material to complete job.
Designs and fabricates fixtures as needed.
Documents programs for ISO compliance.
Sets up job by loading control media in machine controller or enters commands to retrieve pre-programmed instructions from database, prepares and presets all tools.
Enters commands or manually adjust machine controls to correct malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining.
Operates, maintains and monitors machine operations which may include tool changing, offsetting and slight adjustments to meet customer specifications.
Verifies that fixture setup meets acceptable quality standards regarding turning, milling and boring sizes, depths, angles, or other specifications.
Qualifications:
5+ years previous CNC machining (3-axis, 5-axis)
The ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and layouts, understand general tolerances, utilize measuring equipment (optical comparator, micrometers, dial calipers, dial indicators and any necessary inspection equipment) and computer software programs.
