Criminal Justice grad becomes tech recruiter?! Yes, that's me! After graduating, a while ago, and not joining the police department, as planned, my friend hired me as a recruiter. I really didn't know what a tech recruiter even was, but as cliche as it sounds, I was looking for a job where I could help people. Recruiting is kind of like being a detective, you have to research companies and candidates and find the "as close to perfect match" as possible.
I started my career working for a consulting firm where I hired people on projects from all over the world, India, South Africa and Turkey specializing in SAP and Y2K projects. Am I dating
myself? I left consulting joined a Global Firm where I managed a team in Los Angeles before moving to Boston. After a few years of shoveling snow, we decided to return to LA
and I joined Technical Connections. The rest is history, here I am 15 + years later where I have enjoyed a rewarding career making a positive impact on people’s lives and finding excellent talent for our clients.
Why I love recruiting...
Almost nothing makes me happier than telling someone they got the job and their excitement. It is such a rewarding feeling!
When I'm not working, I love to...
Exercise, cook, garden, hang out with my teenager and my friends, walk our Golden Retriever, read, go to concerts, and drink fine wine.
Jen is extremely professional, personable, and easy to work with. She was extremely thorough throughout the whole interview process, answering all of my questions honestly and taking time off the clock to make sure I had the information I needed to feel comfortable. Hands-down working with Jen is the best experience I’ve ever had working with a recruiter.
