Paul's Bio
I've been in the healthcare industry for over 17 years. I first started off my career as a Direct Support Professional (CNA) working with developmentally disabled adults for an agency in Brookings, SD. I was later promoted to Residential Supervisor. I also freelanced for teaching AHA BLS to nursing students at South Dakota State University. After 8 years working in that field I moved to the great state of Colorado! I landed a job at University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora. My title was Patient Resident Liaison. I was basically a non-clinical case manager for most units within the hospitals, helping expedite discharges and planning for care after the hospital. After two years of working for UCH, I decided to try the recruitment side of things. It wasn't something I planned to do, it just worked it self out that way. Which I think happens for most recruiters.
I've been recruiting since October of 2015 and I've worked for two other companies other than Lead Health, one mid-size and one very large travel agency. I've learned a lot working for those two companies and they have led me to my home here at Lead Health :) To me healthcare recruiting isn't a job, its a career. The satisfaction I received while in direct patient care I now get helping new and experienced travelers. I get the opportunity to help them find jobs across the country, while sharing the good, bad, and ugly to help them pick the right assignments.
I value quality over quantity and taking the extra time it take to make sure my candidates understand how things work on the back end. I also value honesty and providing an open current behind the scenes to my travelers. There shouldn't be anything left on the table, good or bad.
Fun Fact. I've met over 35 of my travelers in person since recruiting!

Spending time with my wife and sons. Cooking, BBQ, exploring new places to eat. Exploring beer and bourbon/whisk(e)y. Try to get skiing in when I can. And I love to get down on some video games (xbox).
