IDR is seeking a Junior AI/ML Engineer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role involves supporting AI development initiatives focused on driving innovation within a major transportation agency. You will work on evaluating emerging AI tools, designing AI/ML models, and developing scalable AI pipelines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Position Overview for the Junior AI/ML Engineer:

• Support the rapid development of AI/ML solutions to enhance transportation and traffic analysis systems.
• Evaluate new AI trends, conduct proof-of-concepts, and test feasibility of innovative ideas.
• Design, build, and deploy AI applications and models tailored to specific use cases, including predictive analytics and natural language processing.
• Create scalable AI pipelines that can be integrated into existing systems, ensuring efficiency and performance.
• Collaborate with data, engineering, and software development teams to implement AI solutions effectively.

Requirements for the Junior AI/ML Engineer:

• Possesses raw knowledge and skillset through coursework with some hands-on work experience in the following areas:
• Python and SQL skills
• Data Visualization skills with tools like PowerBI, Tableau, Streamlit, R Shiny, Matplotlib
• Knowledge of Object-oriented programming & design patterns, unit testing, CI/CD, Git, containerization (Docker)
• Data pipelines and ETL (Airflow, Prefect, or cloud-native equivalents)
• Model deployment (REST APIs, gRPC, serverless), monitoring, and versioning; experience with cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI AI services and cloud-native training/inference environments (SageMaker, Bedrock, Vertex AI, Azure ML); Kubernetes and Docker
