IDR is seeking a COBOL Developer to join one of our top clients for a remote opportunity. This role is within a government agency supporting critical state systems, specifically focused on eligibility and client services.
Position Overview for the COBOL Developer:
- Develop, test, and optimize COBOL programs and CICS transactions for core application functionality.
- Write, modify, and optimize DB2 queries and stored procedures to ensure system efficiency.
- Develop and manage JCL scripts for batch processing and automation tasks.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues to ensure minimal system downtime.
Requirements for the COBOL Developer:
- Advanced proficiency in COBOL coding, debugging, and performance optimization (8+ years).
- Advanced knowledge of CICS online transaction processing and system integration.
- Advanced skills in DB2 database development, query optimization, and data management.
- Advanced experience developing and maintaining JCL batch jobs.
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
