IDR is seeking a Critical Operations Engineer II to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Secaucus, NY. This role is focused on maintaining and troubleshooting critical infrastructure systems within a data center environment, supporting high-availability operations and ensuring safety compliance. Position Overview for the Critical Operations Engineer II:
Provide expert technical support and operational management of electrical, mechanical, and safety systems in a critical facility environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to electrical distribution, HVAC, fire safety, and data cabling infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and building codes, including NFPA and NEC regulations.
Monitor and analyze system data to proactively identify potential issues and optimize system performance.
Support facility safety and emergency procedures, ensuring high standards of industrial safety and protocol adherence.
Requirements for the Critical Operations Engineer II:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience installing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting large commercial and industrial systems including chillers, HVAC, generator systems, and electrical distribution.
Expert understanding of electrical and mechanical systems used in critical facilities, including transformers, PLCs, UPS systems, and fire safety systems.
Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, and building codes related to fire life safety.
Proven experience in fiber optics, cabling infrastructure, and industrial safety practices.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex system issues rapidly and accurately.
