As a Registered Nurse in our Maternity Care Center, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive, compassionate care to patients throughout their childbirth journey—from antepartum through postpartum, including active labor and delivery. This is more than a career; it’s a calling to support patients during one of the most meaningful times in their lives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Labor & Delivery:

 • Monitor labor progression, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs.

 • Assist obstetricians and midwives with vaginal and cesarean deliveries.

 • Perform immediate newborn assessments including Apgar scoring and initiation of breastfeeding.

 • Provide emotional and physical support to laboring patients and their families during delivery.

Antepartum & Postpartum Care:

 • Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to expectant mothers experiencing complications but not in active labor.

 • Provide postpartum care, including assessment and monitoring of mothers after birth.

 • Support and educate mothers on breastfeeding, recovery, and newborn care.

 • Assist with basic newborn care and ensure a safe transition for both mother and baby.

General Nursing Duties:

 • Coordinate and manage care for assigned patients using clinical judgment, nursing knowledge, and decision-making skills.

 • Communicate and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

 • Utilize hospital resources efficiently, including staff, equipment, and supplies, to support patient care.

 • Maintain a positive, professional relationship with patients, families, and coworkers by demonstrating compassion, empathy, and respect.

 

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing).

 • Current and unrestricted RN license in the State of Georgia.

 • Previous experience in Labor & Delivery and/or Maternity Care strongly preferred.

 • BLS and NRP certifications required (or must be obtained within a designated time frame after hire).

 • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and patient assessment skills.
