OpenShift Migration Engineer

  • Ongoing contract (Client maintains right to hire after 3 months though rarely exercises this right)
  • Location: Charlotte, NC
  • C2C Pay Rate: $65/HR
  • Responsibilities:
  • Assess and understand the architecture, dependencies, and deployment configurations of applications currently hosted on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute the end-to-end migration of applications from PCF to OpenShift, ensuring application continuity and minimal disruption.
  • Reconfigure and deploy applications to OpenShift clusters, applying Kubernetes best practices for container orchestration and management.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues during and after migration, including deployment errors, container runtime issues, and platform-specific challenges.
  • Optimize applications and container configurations for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency in the OpenShift ecosystem.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices, including RBAC, secrets management, and compliance with enterprise security standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience designing and architecting enterprise container platforms.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).
  • Deep expertise with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration technologies.
  • Proficiency in working with OpenShift cloud platforms, including configuration, deployment, and cluster management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex cloud environments.
  • Experience in securing container platforms and enforcing security policies and access controls.
