Microsoft Purview Engineer
  • Ongoing contract  (Client maintains right to hire after 3 months though rarely exercises this right)
  • Location: New York, NY
  • C2C Pay Rate: $62/HR
Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, metadata management, and compliance.

  • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview (formerly Azure Purview).

  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data Services (Data Factory, ADLS, Synapse, SQL, Databricks).

  • Experience with data cataloging, lineage tracking, and security policy enforcement.

  • Understanding of RBAC, sensitivity labels, and data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).

  • Proficiency in Purview APIs, PowerShell, Python, or automation scripts.

  • Ability to develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance strategies.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate / Azure Security Engineer.

  • Experience with third-party governance tools (Collibra, Alation, Informatica, etc.).

  • Knowledge of AI-driven data classification and governance analytics.
