Job Title: General Education Teacher – Science

Location: Pawleys Island, SC (Georgetown County) Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated General Education Science Teacher to join a school-based team in Georgetown, SC. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality science instruction, foster a positive and engaging learning environment, and support the academic and personal growth of all students. This role involves creating engaging, standards-aligned lessons, differentiating instruction based on student needs, and collaborating with colleagues to drive student success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with South Carolina state standards and curriculum guidelines

  • Create a classroom environment that promotes inquiry, critical thinking, and hands-on learning

  • Assess and monitor student progress through assignments, labs, projects, assessments, and classroom participation

  • Differentiate instruction and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs

  • Integrate technology and real-world applications to enhance science instruction

  • Communicate regularly with parents, administrators, and support staff regarding student progress and behavior

  • Participate in professional development, team meetings, and collaborative planning

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in compliance with school and district policies

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred

  • Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Science or eligibility to obtain one

  • Prior experience teaching science at the middle or high school level preferred

  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

  • Ability to engage students using varied instructional strategies and technology

Schedule & Contract Details
  • Full-time, on-site position following the school year calendar

  • Monday–Friday, daytime hours (no weekends or evenings required)

  • Academic-year contract with potential for renewal
