Job Title: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter
Job Type: Full-TimeOverview:
We’re seeking a skilled and reliable American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school-based setting. This role is critical in ensuring students have full access to instruction, classroom participation, and school activities. The ideal candidate is adaptable, professional, and committed to educational equity and clear communication.Responsibilities:
• Provide real-time ASL interpretation for classroom instruction, school activities, and related educational settings • Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, peers, and school staff • Interpret academic content, discussions, and directions accurately and impartially • Collaborate with educators, special education teams, and support staff to meet student communication needs • Participate in IEP meetings as appropriate and support implementation of accommodations • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for educational interpreters • Document services and comply with district and state requirementsQualifications:
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) • EIPA score and/or state certification as required by the district • Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred but not required • Strong professionalism, reliability, and communication skills • Ability to adapt to various learning environments and student needsBenefits:
