About Joel Corrales:

I didn’t start off with Joel. The original Recruiter who contacted me, and set up a phone interview for a specific date and time apparently couldn’t keep that time slot, because I waited 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, and never received a call. I texted her, asking if she still wanted to talk. I eventually got a response saying she was busy going through resumes, and asked if I’d be willing to reschedule for later that day. I accepted a 2 p.m. slot for a phone interview, and that’s when Joel took charge of my job search. The interview with Joel went well. We discussed my background, and he explained he had a position for me at the company I applied to via Helpmates’ ZipRecruiter listing. I agreed to an in-person interview with Joel the next day. I showed up 30 minutes early, and Joel was able to see me right away. We went over, and discussed my resume, and work history, and then, Joel told me about the company I was applying for, and answered all of my questions. After completing the onboarding process, Joel explained that he forwarded my information, as well as my resume to the company, and that should they respond, he would give me a call. Sure enough, I received a call from Joel on my way home, saying the company got back to him, and wanted to set up a walk-through(essentially, a get-to-know-you-in-person interview) for the following day. The walk-through went well, I felt. I was told to inform Helpmates that I would accept the position. Ultimately, I was told(not by Joel) that the company had decided not to move forward with my hiring. Still, I appreciate Joel(who’s on vacation as I type this) for getting me that far.
