Marty reached out based on an old resume I had posted to LinkedIn. The role he worked with me on ultimately was not one I am interested in accepting, but I think there may have been some miscommunication between the client and Marty's firm with regards to what the client was looking for versus my skillset. This is (sadly) not the first time I've gone to an interview with a firm where the job I had applied for (and would be interested in) was not what was posted online. Technology is moving so fast these days that it's hard for most people to keep up, and what a company thinks it needs (and tells the HR dept that they need) is not ultimately the role they end up hiring for. Marty was fine with regards to his communication with me and what he understood that the client was looking for. It wasn't until I was in the interview with the client that it came out that what they needed was not something I was interested in pursuing.
As this is my first time dealing with Marty I am happy so far with the way this as gone. He listened to what I informed him I was looking for in a job. He is polite and easy to talk to.
