BI System Analyst

Our direct client, a leader of advanced solutions for defense, aerospace, rail, and telecommunications, is looking for a talented full-time Business Intelligence Systems Analyst to join their team.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL querying, data extraction, and data visualization tools, preferably Power BI.  This position is in their Branford, CT office, onsite with every other Friday off.  If you would like to be a part of a dynamic environment where your skills and expertise will contribute to the success of their business, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity. Responsibilities:
  • Back-End BI:
    • Utilize advanced SQL skills to query and manipulate data within our Oracle-based ERP systems or SAP.
    • Develop customizations and enhancements to the ERP system to meet business requirements.
    • Perform data cleansing and migration tasks efficiently within the ERP system.
    • Troubleshoot ERP system issues and provide support in collaboration with offsite IT teams.
    • Conduct end-user training sessions as necessary. 
  • Front-End BI:
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify KPIS to enhance operational efficiency.
    • Design and develop automated reporting and dashboards using Power BI or equivalent tools.
    • Integrate data from various sources (ERP, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) to create comprehensive KPI visualizations.
    • Proficiency in DAX language (Power BI) is strongly recommended.
  • Manufacturing Experience:
    • Apply manufacturing business acumen to analyze data and provide insights in a production environment.
    • Conduct data analysis across multiple departments such as purchasing, inventory, production, and test.
    • Familiarity with MRP and its operational implications.
    • Experience in capacity planning involving both HR and machinery.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as Management Information Systems, Data Science, or Computer Science.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and SQL developer tools.
  • Moderate experience in coding languages.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in both back-end and front-end BI roles, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into actionable BI solutions.
  • Proven track record of delivering high quality BI solutions on time and within budget.
