  Job Title Senior Engineer – Civil and Structural (Coastal Engineering) Job Description Senior Engineer – Civil and Structural (Coastal Engineering) supporting the Cooling Water Island team in the GBE-N project. Key Duties: •  Deliver coastal and marine engineering assessments and design support for the GBE-N programme, including coastal protection and marine structures. •  Produce and review calculations, models, technical reports, specifications, and design documentation. •  Support the development of design substantiation and technical justifications to meet project, regulatory, and governance requirements. •  Collaborate with civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated engineering solutions. •  Undertake assessments of coastal processes, wave loading, scour, flooding, erosion, and climate change impacts on infrastructure. •  Participate in design reviews, technical assurance activities, and resolution of engineering queries. •  Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and CDM 2015 obligations. Skills / Qualifications / Experience: •  Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering and working towards Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent experience). •  Experience in coastal or marine projects. •  Experience assessing environmental and operational loadings, including wave action, flooding, scour, erosion, and climate resilience. •  Understanding of design substantiation, technical reporting, and engineering assurance processes. •  Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and manage technical interfaces. •  Experience with relevant coastal, hydraulic, or numerical modelling software. •  Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills. Knowledge or experience using American codes and standards is desirable but not obligatory. Experience working within the Nuclear Industry and particularly on nuclear new build projects is advantageous.
