Astute’s Renewables team is working with a well-respected biogas company who own and operate a portfolio of anaerobic digestion plants. They are looking to recruit a Mechanically biased Site Engineer for their site in Spaldington.
The Site Engineer is a vital role and will play a pivotal part in helping the site to run efficiently and minimise downtime. The role comes with a starting salary of £37,000 and benefits include a company pension, life insurance, health & wellbeing program, employee discounts and referral program.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineer Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Planned maintenance tasks and recording corrective actions
- Reacting to breakdowns and ensuring a quick response to minimise downtime
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance on the plants assets, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes and valves
- Be responsible for refurbishments and any new installations and fabrications work
- Supervising contractors and ensuring safe systems of work (SSOW)
- Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
- Be part of an on call rota and occasionally work outside of normal working hours
- Other duties as required

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- A relevant Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical) and/or time served experience is essential
- A level or equivalent in a STEM subject is desirable
- WAMITAB is desirable
- SAP qualified is desirable
Personal skills
The Site Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Experienced working in anaerobic digestion or a similar processing environment
- Ability to read and interpret all Engineering Drawings
- Computer literate
- Able to work at heights
- Self-motivated and hardworking
