Site Engineer - Biogas

Astute’s Renewables team is working with a well-respected biogas company who own and operate a portfolio of anaerobic digestion plants. They are looking to recruit a Mechanically biased Site Engineer for their site in Spaldington. The Site Engineer is a vital role and will play a pivotal part in helping the site to run efficiently and minimise downtime. The role comes with a starting salary of £37,000 and benefits include a company pension, life insurance, health & wellbeing program, employee discounts and referral program.   • Planned maintenance tasks and recording corrective actions
  • Reacting to breakdowns and ensuring a quick response to minimise downtime
  • Carrying out repairs and maintenance on the plants assets, such as pumps, motors, gearboxes and valves
  • Be responsible for refurbishments and any new installations and fabrications work
  • Supervising contractors and ensuring safe systems of work (SSOW)
  • Completion of timely, accurate paperwork
  • Be part of an on call rota and occasionally work outside of normal working hours
  • Other duties as required

  Professional qualifications    We are looking for someone with the following:   
  • A relevant Engineering qualification (Electrical or Mechanical) and/or time served experience is essential
  • A level or equivalent in a STEM subject is desirable
  • WAMITAB is desirable
  • SAP qualified is desirable 
    Personal skills    The Site Engineer role would suit someone who is: 
  • Experienced working in anaerobic digestion or a similar processing environment
  • Ability to read and interpret all Engineering Drawings
  • Computer literate
  • Able to work at heights
  • Self-motivated and hardworking
