• Support the delivery of all Health, Safety and Environmental activities across the converter station construction project, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements and UK legislation.
• Promote a positive safety culture across site, engaging with project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to drive safe working practices at all times.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and workplace monitoring activities to identify hazards, ensure compliance and support continual improvement initiatives.
• Assist with the review and implementation of Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS), Construction Phase Plans (CPPs), Permit-to-Work systems and other key HSE documentation.
• Provide practical HSE guidance and support to construction teams involved in civil, structural, mechanical and electrical installation activities.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, inductions and workforce engagement programmes to reinforce project HSE standards and expectations.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and unsafe conditions, supporting root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
• Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements, client expectations and statutory obligations.
• Support environmental management activities on site, ensuring adherence to environmental controls, waste management procedures and sustainability objectives.
• Assist with project mobilisation, construction, commissioning and handover phases, ensuring HSE requirements are effectively integrated throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, observations and performance data, contributing to regular project and client reporting requirements.
• Work closely with project management, construction teams and client representatives to ensure effective communication and coordination of HSE matters across the project.
• Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation, CDM Regulations, environmental requirements and industry best practice.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and behavioural safety programmes aimed at achieving a safe and incident-free project environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage confidently with personnel at all levels across a major EPC construction project.
