Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for HR & Industrial Relations Senior Advisor to join the EPC Contractor for their High-Capacity interconnector cable line project from Tyneside to Torness. This position is a fixed term contract.

The HR & Industrial Relations Senior Advisor position comes with a salary from £50,000 to £60,000 plus benefits. Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
  • Act as the key link between management, contractors, employees, and trade unions or worker representatives.
  • Resolve workplace issues, disciplinary actions, and grievances in line with company policy, employment law, and any collective agreements.
  • Liaise with union representatives; support or lead negotiations on pay, conditions, and site agreements.
  • Maintain good working relationships while protecting the company’s commercial and operational interests.
  • Ensure all employment practices comply with UK labour law (e.g. Working Time Regulations, Equality Act, Employment Rights Act) and any relevant collective agreements.
  • Draft, update, and implement HR and IR policies covering disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, and conduct matters.
  • Advise site managers, HR, and project leadership on handling sensitive employment issues and maintaining fair, consistent employee treatment.
  • Maintain accurate records of disciplinary hearings, grievance meetings, and industrial action risks. Provide regular reports on workforce relations and potential risks to senior management.
