Commercial Manager
CONTRACT

Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with a leading Client within the UK Power Industry to recruit a Commercial Manager on an initial 6 months basis for their new build Waste to Energy facility in the Teesside area.

The Commercial Manager comes with a day from £500.00 to £600.00 per day.

 

 

Key skills and responsibilities: 

  • Lead and manage negotiations for commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Develop and oversee financial models, budgets, and forecasts for energy projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and profitability targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, government bodies, regulatory authorities, and third-party contractors.
  • Monitor and assess market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and growth opportunities in the energy market.
  • Provide commercial input into the planning, execution, and delivery of the energy from waste project, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks related to this project, contracts, and market conditions, ensuring risk strategies are in place.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., environmental regulations, safety standards, etc.) in all commercial activities.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on commercial performance, financial status, and key business metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring all obligations are met and delivering value to the organization.
  • Work closely with technical, legal, and operations teams to support successful project execution, ensuring commercial and technical alignment.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize procurement strategies, and drive efficiencies across energy project budgets and contracts.
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in commercial management within the energy or utilities sector.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Hold a degree in Construction Law (Essential)

 

 

 

Location, remuneration and timeframe of the Commercial Manager position:

  • Home based with occasional travel to and from their site in Teesside.
  • £500.00 to £600.00 per day (outside IR35)
