Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with an EPC Contractor within the UK Power Industry to recruit an Authorised Person / LOTO Officer on a contract basis for its Waste to Energy facility based in Cheshire.
The Authorised Person / LOTO Officer role comes with a day rate of £350.00 to £400.00 per day for 12 months.
Key skills and responsibilities:

Thorough understanding of plant mechanical and electrical systems along with in-depth understanding and interpretation of P&IDs, electrical one line/multiline and other pertinent drawings

Follows safety/environmental rules and regulations. Implements project safe work practices and immediately identifies hazards and recommends and/or implements repairs.

Understands and executes the equipment clearance (LOTO) procedure, as well as Job Safety Analysis/Work Authorization/Confined Space/Hot Work Permits.

Receive, verify, and approve LOTO permits, as directed by the project PTW system.

Ensures all protective measures identified on the permit are implemented prior to authorized start of the work.

Issue tags and locks for personnel

Maintain control of locks and permits (open and closed) with log and report daily.

Ensures locks and tags are placed and removed from designated equipment and systems.

Ensure the equipment or system is in safe configuration after work is completed.

Report to the Lead Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, the Commissioning Manager, and the Head of Commissioning where necessary

At least 2-5 years working experience in EHS and lock-out/tag-out processes of large power stations with demonstrable experience in a role of similar relevance.

HND/HNC in Mechanical/Process/Electrical engineering is preferred.

Strong team spirit, working with an international team and other cultures.
